why purple serendipity?

Purple is my favourite colour.  I adore any shade of purple and love its richness and vibrancy.

Violet is the shade I prefer to wear because of its warmth and exuberance.  However, I prefer to live in lavender as it is able to sooth my often bemused brain.

Serendipity  is my favourite word.  It sounds so delicious.

The dictionary says:

  1. The faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident.
  2. The fact or occurrence of such discoveries.
  3. An instance of making such a discovery.

serendipitous seren·dipi·tous adj.
serendipitously seren·dipi·tous·ly adv.

[From the characters in the Persian fairy tale The Three Princes of Serendip, who made such discoveries, from Persian Sarandīp, Sri Lanka, from Arabic sarandīb.]

The word was created byEnglish author Horace Walpole.  How wonderful to invent your own word.

I love serendipitous moments in life and hope somewhere within this blog you may make some fortunate discoveries of your own, even if only to realise that there is someone out there whose thoughts are more defuddled than your own.
